When asked about her journey, Bertina humbly reflected, “What helped me a lot is that I’m a little bit older. The maturity level helped me out. I was honest with myself. I devoted a continuous period of six years to SANTS, commencing with the Diploma in Grade R Teaching and progressing to the Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase Teaching.” Despite starting later, Bertina never allowed her circumstances to hinder her progress. Instead, she channelled her passion and determination into her studies, excelling in her chosen field. Bertina’s story highlights that age should never be a barrier to pursuing one’s dreams, and success can be attained at any stage of life.

Discovering her true calling and pursuing it with unwavering dedication has been instrumental in Bertina’s achievements. She emphasized, “I found what I loved to do, so I did it to the best of my ability.
